Volunteer opportunities and more

Vote411 needs volunteers

Vote411 is one of the most important, visible and trusted resources that the League of Women Voters produces. The Greater Cleveland league is not only the biggest in the state, but one of the biggest in the country. It covers a large, diverse and populous geographic area.  We provide free, accurate and nonpartisan information for voters.
Help is needed to research ballot issues and municipal races. Please contact Marcia Goldberg at marcia.goldberg@lwvgreatercleveland.org if you can give a few hours of your time this summer and early fall to help out.

League in Action

There is a terrific app that you can download on your phone to find out what LWV actions you can take. The League of Women Voters of Greater Cleveland has a site on the app that you can join (you can also join LWVUS and LWVOhio.)
First, download the  League in Action app on your phone. Fill out your account information under "Account". Go to "My OutreachCircle(s)" to find LWVGC (look for it under Greater Cleveland.) As soon as you are signed up, you will start getting actions you can take. I have included some screenshots below to help you navigate the process.

Help needed for the Second Annual Your Voice, Your Vote, Your Power Airstream tour of local colleges

The League of Women Voters of Ohio is sponsoring a second Airstream tour of local colleges. The Airstream will be visiting Northeast Ohio colleges and universities from September 1 to September 13. We need contacts at local schools who can help us get on campus to register college students to vote, and to help them learn how to vote early. Students at local schools who are from out of state  but want to register in Ohio need to know how to vote in Ohio.
If you have any sources at one of the many local schools who can help us get on their campuses, please contact Gale Husney, Voter Services Director, at GHusney@lwvgreatercleveland.org

4th of July pictures

Please send me your pictures of your League sponsored Independence Day events. We want visitors to our website, and people from other chapters, to know and be proud and inspired of what your are doing in your community. You can send them to jsavitt@lwvgreatercleveland.org

3.5 %

Did you know that all it takes is 3.5 % of eligible voters to engage in non-violent protests and action to bring about significant, positive change to society? That is the conclusion of Erica Chenoweth of Harvard University after doing research on the history of social and civic movements in the United States. Keep that in mind next time you think about attending a rally. Your presence matters.
