A Message from Alice Allen, Director of Funding and Development

Dear LWVGC Members and Friends,

As we reflect on this past election season, we are reminded how vital organizations like ours are in strengthening civic participation and ensuring communities have access to clear, trusted information at a critical moment for our country. Thanks to your continued support, the League of Women Voters of Greater Cleveland has continued to reach voters across Northeast Ohio, through our 11 local chapters and additional efforts in communities without local chapters.

In the months leading up to the 2025 election, we registered thousands of voters and held dozens of candidate forums. We secured welcoming venues and recorded the forums to share on our YouTube channel, making candidate information accessible to even more voters. LWVGC's dedicated team of volunteers also prepared and published nonpartisan voting information on our Vote411 website, ensuring voters throughout Cuyahoga County had access to reliable information regardless of whether their municipality has a local chapter of the League.

This year, LWVGC was able to increase voter outreach in the City of Cleveland thanks to a grant we received from Cleveland VOTES that allowed us to bring a dedicated Election Season Coordinator on board. We focused on historically disenfranchised and underserved neighborhoods in Cleveland to increase access to voter information. We are excited to build on this momentum in the coming year by deepening our efforts to increase voter turnout in the City of Cleveland in a meaningful way.

To continue and grow this important work, we invite you to consider making a year-end donation. Contributions can be made easily through our website, and every gift, large or small, helps strengthen civic participation across our region.

Donations to our Education Fund are tax-deductible, and gifts to our Operating Fund support our ongoing advocacy efforts. If you wish to donate to a specific chapter, you may do so via THIS LINK (scroll down to your local chapter).

If you have questions about donating or are interested in making a Qualified Charitable Distribution from an IRA or recommending a grant from a Donor-Advised Fund, please contact LWVGC Funding & Development Director Alice Allen at aallen@lwvgreatercleveland.org. You may also wish to consult your tax advisor to see whether recent changes in tax law make it especially beneficial to give this year.

We are deeply grateful for your support, your engagement, and your belief in the mission of the LWVGC throughout the year. Together, we continue the important work of defending democracy and empowering voters throughout Greater Cleveland.

Yours in League,
The League of Women Voters of Greater Cleveland
