Reminder re Voter Outreach Events
Yes, most people in our immediate communities are registered, but we can still talk to them!
- Remind them to not assume they are still registered - check their registration in September so they still have time to renew it before registration closes on October 5th. Registrations ARE still being purged each month. Assume nothing! They can go to VoteOhio.gov, or to Vote411.org to check.
- Let people know what is on the ballot in November.
- Talk to people about the current status on voting by mail. The government is not automatically mailing out vote-by-mail applications so if people don't receive one from an organization they will need to get their own application to mail in.
- Actual ballots will start to be mailed out on October 6th. Completed ballots MUST BE RECEIVED at the Board by 7:30 pm on election day. There is no window beyond election day. People can drop their ballot in the drop box at the Board of Elections if they worry there isn't enough time for the US Postal Service to deliver it.
- Some people want to vote by mail just so they can take the time they need to study the ballot and make their decisions. They can also see what is on their ballot by going to Vote411.org or to the County Board of Elections website. There is a link to What's on my Ballot which they can click on.
- Candidate information will begin to be added to Vote411.org in October.
I have begun suggesting to people that they go to the Board of Elections and vote in person during early voting. This way they don't need to worry about the US Postal Service, and they don't need to worry about possible interference on election day. If they vote at the Board they know then that their ballot is in the possession of the Board on election day.
- The Board of Elections is now located at 1803 Superior Avenue. They are not on Euclid at 29th anymore.

Weekdays, October 6-23rd - 8:00 to 5:00
Saturday, October 24th - 8:00 to 4:00
Monday, October 26th - 7:30 am to 7:30 pm
Tuesday, October 27th - 7:30 am to 8:30 pm
Wed-Fri, October 28th-30th - 7:30 am to 7:30 pm
Saturday, October 31st - 8:00-4:00
Sunday, November 1st - 1:00-5:00 (the only Sunday)
AND A CAUTION: from the latest All Ohio LWVO call - In Ohio elections so far in 2026, 760 provisional ballots were rejected for lack of valid ID and 928 were rejected for lack of valid registration. Please remind everyone to verify their registration before election day, and if you are registering voters PLEASE double-check their form to make sure every required blank is completed before they walk away. Far too many registration forms are incomplete or illegible. And if you can, remind them to make sure their ID is not expired before election day. The BMV will issue a state ID (not a license) at no cost for people who need one to vote.
