Cleveland Chapter Activity 2022-2023*
Dear Chapter Members and Friends,
This past year has presented unprecedented changes to the way Ohioans can vote. The changes made to voter registration, early voting, voter ID requirements, provisional ballots, curbside voting, and vote by mail have made voting more prohibitive. Although there have been numerous changes to Ohio election laws, our chapter members remained committed to positively impacting our community through leading voter education and advocacy events, observing city or county council, and participating in other public policy issues such as Fair District Ohio.
Over the past year, the members participated in numerous voter registration events, helped distribute voter guides throughout the community, provided voter information and updates to seniors at various senior living facilities, worked with community partners to provide the citizens accurate and relevant information related to voting and voting rights, and participated in the League sponsored DEI programs.
In the upcoming League year, we look forward to continuing to fulfill our mission of empowering and educating voters, ensuring voter access and participation, and defending democracy.
In the meantime, I hope you have a great summer.
In League,
Leigh Tucker
Cleveland Chapter Chair
