HomeShaker Voter Services

Because every voice matters, nonpartisan voter service is at the heart of League work.

The League was founded in 1920, the year women gained the right to vote. From the beginning, we have been committed to engaging citizens in voting: getting registered, being informed on candidates and issues, and getting out the vote. Central to that commitment are voter registration events, providing nonpartisan voter information, and being a resource for voter questions.

Registering voters. Chapter volunteers help register voters in Shaker and throughout the Greater Cleveland: at public events, high schools, even naturalization ceremonies.

Educating voters. Through this website, social media, forums and other outreach, we help voters find the information they need, from how to register, finding a polling place and hours, how to vote early or by mail, ways to contact your legislators and more.

Voter Guides and Vote411.org. Prior to most elections, the League of Women Voters of Greater Cleveland gathers nonpartisan information about candidates and ballot issues, including those in Shaker Heights. Voters can access that information online at Vote411.org, as well as in a printed and online Voters Guide. Voter Services volunteers also help deliver Voters Guides to libraries, living facilities, churches and other locations.

If you'd like to be part of this work or want to request a voter registration event for your organization, contact us.
