Believe it or Not: "Voting No By Mistake" Is Happening. Misleading Issue 1 Ballot Language Confuses Voters
Help Us Spread the Vote Yes Message
Recent polls show that up to 30 percent of Ohio voters are confused about Issue 1. Voters report getting to the Early Vote location, or getting their ballot, and concluding that "Vote No" will end gerrymandering.
On Issue 1, the ballot says it will
"Repeal constitutional protections against gerrymandering approved by nearly three quarters of Ohio electors ..."
"Establish a new taxpayer-funded commission of appointees required to gerrymander the boundaries of state legislative and congressional districts ..."
And more utterly misleading and argumentative language.
We need your help!
Issue 1 would establish a citizens commission to replace the failed systems we approved in 2015 and 2018. Why did our reforms fail? Because they left politicians in charge. We need Issue 1.

Put out a Vote Yes on Issue 1 yard sign. Find your yard sign here . It is particularly helpful, if you can, to have the sign next to one of our LWV Vote signs and not in a yard with candidate signs. One of the misleading pitches is that Issue 1 is a "Democrat takeover," not citizen empowerment.
